The choice of the logs:

To begin with, we choose every log on foot in our forest. It is selected regarding our needs. The cutting day is chosen after the moon calendar to get the best quality.


The work:



We work on the log structure on our site, so that at the same time our client can start building the foundation of the house on his land. This is a way to gain time on delay and get enough space to work on.



Every log is peeled with a drawknife. This know-how gives a smooth aspect to the wood and at the same time takes off the marks from the cutting and transportation. As the first layer is off this allows a better absorption of treatment.

Insulation:



In those constructions the active isolation is wood. We add just a mineral wool in a lateral groove that we cut with the chainsaw in order to have the best insulation and weather proof.

Transportation:



After numbering every log before getting them on trucks, we still drill the passage for the electric devices according to the needs. Then we give a great care to loading every single log in order to avoid any damages.

Assembling:



It takes at least one day to our crew to assemble the house with the help of a crane-truck. The roof takes place the following days which will be done in either 2 days or one week independently of the size of the house and the weather forecast.

Settling:



The dialogue with every contractor on the spot is very important in order to avoid any problems. Remember that a log construction is not traditional and will settle from 3 to 5 % for the 3 following years due to the drying of the wood.
