My story

My story is a passion. The passion of my life. It asked me a real technical knowledge and know-how.

In 1999 I obtained with success my diploma of carpenter.

First, discovering a part of the world was my priority specially the great Canadian spaces. Having some friends living there helped me also in my choice.

Once in Canada, I had a great revelation when I saw my first log home: I wanted to be a log home builder.

I started to look for a place of apprenticeship. Unfortunately this wasn’t for that year.

Back in Switzerland, my first born passion stronger than ever, I carried on looking. A few months later the Canadian Immigration in Bern gave me an address in British Columbia: Pioneer log homes of bc. My diploma of carpenter opened the doors. This is in December 2000 that the contract was signed for April 1st of the next year.

Simultaneously learning English and mastering log building… what could I ask more?

The beginnings were not so evident. Three months of log’s peeling with a drawknife, a wage based on the meter… this wasn’t my cup of tea. I wanted to go further. So outside of my working hours I asked my colleagues to teach me the techniques of the job.

This is how I moved forward. My apprenticeship became more interesting and my work appreciated.

My big chance was to work on the biggest world log construction: the Cedar Ranch, Colorado, USA for which 74 trucks of 48 tons were needed for the transport.

One and a half year later, my diploma in my pocket, I went back home. This was my return to my first boss enterprise.

One day, a friend of mine asked me about one big project. The construction of a large log cabin, for an important Youth Event.

40 days of efforts with the help of others, 80’000 people came to see and enjoy the place. This was the main attraction of the spot. The reward of a year and a half in Canada. 


My business was born, and my dream coming true!
